Abstract:
This paper presents the progress, results and a brief analysis of the educational experiment of Professor A. Gilmore, based on exploring the potential of the authentic materials use in teaching foreign languages. The article examines the possible factors influenced the results of the experiment, as well as the major methodological errors preventing the achievement of planned results while working with authentic material and the ways to avoid these errors.
